An innovative design of 360° LED indicator around the turning connector allows you to read the signal at any directions. No word on price or availability.

Australia’s Dell ready to ship Inspiron 1525

The Inspiron 1525 was supposed to hit sometime in “mid-December,” and although that didn’t happen. Dell’s Australian site just put up a bunch of pages detailing the new machine. The 15.4-inch machine doesn’t come packing a ton of surprises — 2GHz T7250 Core 2 Duo, X3100 integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM, 160GB or storage, and WiFi — but it’s at least kinda cheap, at AU$1399 ($1228). The site lists an Australian ship date of January 9th, so we’d imagine we’ll be seeing these hit the States relatively soon.

Intel launches their newest gaming platform, Skulltrail

Intel seems like it’s going to be making a bigger push at gamers with the launch of Penryn, and HotHardware managed to acquire some info about the company’s upcoming “Skulltrail” platform, which is built-around server-class hardware reconfigured for gaming. Skulltrail supports dual quad-core Penryn Xeon processors, SLI graphics, and four PCI Express x16 slots, as well as two standard PCI slots. You’re also looking at a whopping six internal SATA ports, dual eSATA ports, six USB ports, a lone FireWire port, and Gigabit Ethernet. As for I/O, the board has six internal SATA ports, a single IDE port, and headers for additional USB and Firewire ports. On the IO plate, no legacy connectors are to be found, but it does have six USB ports, dual eSATA ports, single Firewire and Gigabit Ethernet jacks, and analog and digital HD audio inputs / outputs.

That’s quite a foundation for a gaming rig, let’s just hope the price is at least sounds reasonable, eh?

Fujitsu leaks a second Penryn laptop and sports Blu-ray

Hitachi going to show off their 1.5-inch thick plasma,.75-inch thick LCD prototypes at CES Las Vegas

Sony will bring Skype to PSP

It’s hasn’t went official yet, but it looks like Sony will indeed bring Skype to PSP. According to Reuters, Sony is “planning to add an internet phone function” (that’d be Skype) to its PSP in order to “stir up demand,” which wouldn’t be a half bad idea considering how the DS seems to be hogging the limelight of late. Purportedly, the software could become available “as early as this month,” and while Sony spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka declined to comment on the rumblings, he did note that the company was “studying ways to add value to the PSP.” Are you thinking what we’re thinking?

Alienware show off their awesomeness curved DLP display

At Las Vegas CES, Alienware introduce their new curved DLP display that will be available in the second half of the year. The picture above is just the late engineering prototype; everything from the internals to the casing is probably going to change. There are four LED-backlit DLP projectors inside, which explains the lines in the image above, but the final version will show a seamless image. The ideal viewing position is directly in the middle at about two feet away. That’s when the image seamlessly appears to wrap all the way around your vision, and it’s just as sweet as you’d expect. This is probably the best monitor for games like 3D shooting, racing, etc. Pricing information is still infuriatingly non-specific: the best we got was “more than a 17-inch flat panel and less than a Kia.”
