Lenovo announces two new ultraportable notebook PCs known as IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks in India. These netbooks are a combination of style and extreme portability. These IdeaPad netbooks weigh just over two pounds and are approximately one inch thick rather thin.

Sporting glossy flavors of deep blue, ruby red and bold black, their keyboard is 85 percent of the size of a full-function notebook PC’s keyboard. The IdeaPad S9 features an 8.9-inch display while the IdeaPad S10 comes with a 10.2-inch display. The energy-efficient LED backlit displays offer longer battery life compared to the traditional displays.

“IdeaPad netbooks are the latest in a string of recently announced Lenovo products, designed specifically for consumers worldwide and developed through our heritage of technological innovation and exceptional engineering,” said Liu Jun, senior vice president, Consumer Business Group, Lenovo. “As rapidly as the technology changes, today’s consumers are looking for mobile products that feature the best of basic computing functions in an extremely compact and affordable form, and Lenovo designed the IdeaPad netbooks for that purpose.”

The slim and small Lenovo netbooks help the users with basic simple activities including connecting to the Internet, checking and writing emails and listening to music.

The Lenovo netbooks offer optional WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, an express card slot, optional high speed mobile broadband connectivity, Intel Atom processor, 1GB of memory, 80 GB or 160 GB hard disk drive, built-in web cam, two USB ports, 4-in-1 multicard reader and the netbooks equip either Microsoft Windows XP or Linux operating systems. The Microsoft Windows-based netbooks come with OneKey Rescue System3 that lets you recover data at the touch of a button incase a system error or virus occurs.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks will be available in September at all Lenovo authorized storefronts. There has been no word on the pricing.
