Transcend India today announced the availability of its latest high-speed SLC 2.5-inch Solid State Disk (SSD) that flaunts 64GB of storage space, in the Indian market.
Based of reliable NAND flash memory, SSDs have left behind the traditional hard disk drives by eliminating the need of moving parts. It has the ability to withstand vibration, shock or heat. The SSDs run cool, generate no noise and use less power for operation. The key aspects of the latest Transcend 2.5-inch SSD include inbuilt durability benefits of solid-state technology, the extremely low power consumption and ultra-fast data transfer speeds. The 64 GB SLC SSD meets all the demands of consumer electronics and industrial systems as well as military applications.

When it comes to performance, Transcend’s new SLC flash memory-equipped 64GB SSD offers data transfer rates that greatly surpass even the fastest 2.5″ hard drives, delivering data read / write speeds of up to 119MB and 64MB per second, respectively. With these high-speed transfer rates and virtually non-existent (less than 0.1ms) latency, Transcend’s SSD accelerates computer boot-up times, makes games and an application open faster and run more smoothly, and improves overall system responsiveness”.
Supporting ECC (Error Correction Code), the newly launched SSD comes integrated with wear leveling technology that guarantees ultra-long storage lifespan and data-retention stability for extended use.
Available in 8 GB to 64 GB in both SATA and IDE versions, the 32 GB model reads up to 25MB/s and writes up to 8MB/s. The 64 GB reads up to 55MB/s and writes up to 21MB/s.
Measuring 100.2 X 69.85 X 7.40 mm, it weighs 80 grams. It supports non-volatile flash memory for outstanding data retention, 44-Pin Male Connector and support for Ultra DMA and RoHS.
Backed by a two year warranty, the Transcend 64 GB High-Speed SLC 2.5-inch SSD is available in India for a suggested price of Rs.33,000.
